Your mission

Alingsås Vocational School is now seeking an engaged teacher in mathematics (Mathematics Level 1) for our vocational programs.

You will teach and guide students in the Mathematics Level 1 course at the high school level. Together with colleagues, you will be part of a team consisting of both subject teachers and vocational teachers. We see you as an important part of the school's development work, where mathematics teaching is closely linked to students' future professional lives and vocational subjects.

The teaching is planned and conducted in accordance with applicable governing documents. Assessment and grading are included in the position.

In addition to teaching, mentorship and other common tasks may be included, similar to other teachers at the school.

About the school

Alingsås Vocational School is a growing school with approximately 90 students in the Hairdressing and Vehicle and Transport programs. We offer vocational training where theory and practice are combined – both at school and in workplaces.

Our teaching is characterized by closeness, flexibility, and practical learning. The collegial collaboration is strong, and we work closely together between vocational subjects and common high school subjects. Here, you will meet students with creativity, professional focus, and varying educational backgrounds.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• is a licensed teacher in mathematics, qualified for high school (meriting with Math Level 1)
• has a good ability to meet students based on their different conditions
• is secure, clear, and relationship-building in your leadership
• can adapt mathematics teaching so that it becomes relevant and understandable for students in vocational programs
• shares the school's values and wants to work closely with students

Meriting:

• qualification in additional subjects
• experience teaching in vocational programs
